What to Expect:

🌍 Global Unity: Students from around the world will join us virtually, fostering a sense of global citizenship, empathy, and understanding.

Through our strong partnerships we are pleased to have over 180 schools signed up through the NAHT, Harrow School Online, Tutors in Action, Norfolk House, part of Bellevue, Aiglon International school in Switzerland and many more.  Our target is to have over 1000 schools joining.

Supported by ZOOM, the assembly will bring students together to gain an understanding of the impact of conflict and the power of hope which education offers to rise above the most challenging of situations.         

Svitlo Education is a charity (registration number: 1201542) that works in partnership with others and volunteering teachers to provide the very best in extra curricular online learning to Ukrainian students impacted by conflict in Ukraine an support Ukrainian refugees in the UK with GCSE core subjects. We work, not only as a school but as the first line in mental health. Our students identify us as helping them cope with the impact of war.

🎙️ Student Speakers: Three remarkable Svitlo students will take the virtual stage, sharing their unique experiences. You will hear stories of the impact of the war and how resilient people have been in the face of the most difficult of circumstances. We hope this will motivate your pupils to appreciate what they have and egnite the compassion and willlingess to help others.

One student, Kseniia, will take you on her journey from Donetsk at the age of 7 in 2014, when Russia invaded that area, to evacuating to Mariupol.  How then in 2022 she lived through 2 months of constant attack before becoming a refugee in Europe.  You will learn how Kseniia is empowered by education to fight back as she works to become an expert in international law whilst also being a young ambassador to the EU for Ukraine.

We will also have a Ukrainian refugee sharing their experience of settling in the UK and a primary school pupil, who stayed in Ukraine, will reach out to our younger audience.

While you will hear of the challenges faced, the lasting impression will be one of love and hope conquering fear and hate. Students will learn how focusing on the future is key in times of adversity and hard work is a powerful ally in times of crisis.

You could also contribute to the cost of the assembly by announcing the day of the assembly as a mufti day and encouraging pupils to make a 50p-£2 donation each and then transfer the collection to Svitlo Education charity bank account.
