For 32 years in a row, Ukraine has celebrated its most important national holiday - the Independence Day.It is not just a public holiday, it is a holiday that emphasizes the importance of national identity, pride in our country and the desire for democracy and development! This day honors the exploits of previous generations and reflects Ukraine's firm path to building a democratic, independent and strong state. 💙💛

So how did our country reach to declare its independence? 🕊️

On the great day of August 24, 1991, under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, an important meeting was held that went down in history books as a key event - the Act of Independence of Ukraine was declared! 

“It was Saturday. A wonderful sunny August day. A rally of thousands gathered in the center of the Ukrainian capital, near the Verkhovna Rada, from the very morning. A sea of ​​blue and yellow flags, people came to condemn the Communist Party of Ukraine - a "criminal and unconstitutional organization" that supported the Moscow putschists; to carry out partition in the country, to leave the USSR. Independence Day marks the end of the struggle for Ukraine's independence from the former Soviet Union. After gaining independence, Ukrainians began the path to building a democratic society where citizens have the right to choose and participate in government processes!
