MAKING MEMORIES: THE JOY OF SUMMER CAMPS

Summer is the season of adventure, discovery, and unforgettable memories. And for our incredible younger students it wasn't an exception. This year 6 of them have been to BOSS camp in London and now they're ready to share their fascinating experience with you. Get cozy and let's dive into the blog!📝

Alisa Sokolovska

"Hey, I'm Alisa and I'm 11. Last year I visited the first camp in my life. And this camp was nowhere else but in England! I couldn't even imagine to get lucky being invited to a camp. I'm so grateful to my favorite Svitlo School for this chance!

Going to BOSS was challenging adventure for me. I haven't flown without my parents on a plane before. When I received the invitation to BOSS, I couldn't believe my eyes after I read it, I was happy and anxious at the same time. But I said: "I want to do it!". My parents replied: "Why not to try?"😉

Finally we are in Krakow International Airport. I waved my parents and said: "See you in two weeks!"

And then in a few hours: Hello, England!

These two weeks were so active! Every day was scheduled down to a minute. I have passed the first exam in my life: it was Speaking English. My dream to visit London Eye had come true! I met so many kind and interesting people, participated in such cool activities as color wars and fashion show. I saw how sea shore in England looks like. Beautiful and great London, Buckingham Palace... And finally we had unforgettable meeting with Yulia Kosko and my favourite teachers not in Zoom, but in real life! This trip is definitely one of the most memorable events in my life so far. I loved this adventure, so eager to come to this wonderful place again)))"🇬🇧

Tymur Shakun

"My trip to camp last year was one of the most memorable events of my life. Before that, I had never been to any camp, never flown on a plane, and never been so far from home. During those two weeks, I saw many fascinating and breathtaking things, visited famous landmarks in London, and even went to Buckingham Palace. I also became friends with students from Svitlo, whom I had only seen in class before. A very pleasant surprise was meeting my teachers in London.

As for life at the camp, we were constantly engaged in exciting activities: studying, working on team projects, having fun, playing sports, and relaxing. Sometimes, I was so busy that I didn’t even have time to call my parents. I am very grateful to Svitlo School for the opportunities it provides every day for Ukrainian students like me and for the incredible experience I had last summer".

Thanks to Alisa and Tymur! Now, let's move on to Mariia's experience. 😉

She admitted that she was nervous at first, but as soon as she arrived in England, her fear disappeared. From the first day, students had three main courses: Art, Speaking English and Grammar, along with many extracurricular activities. They had the opportunity to play football, tennis, swim, and take part in other activities. They also visited many attractions, making their dreams come true.

"This trip has changed my perspective on some things in life. As an example, I'll give you this quote I heard somewhere in BOSS: Some people feel the rain, others get wet☝️.

I understand this quote like this: you need to use every opportunity and look for a positive solution".

Of course, these amazing days went by so fast, but the memories will stay forever. The fun, the friendships, and the stories will always be special and remembered for a long time!
