THE BEST TWO WEEKS IN LONDON!

Kseniia Fomina
February 4, 2025

From July 28th to August 10th, these dates might sound like just numbers to anyone else, but for Kseniia and Andrii, they transformed into the best time of their lives in London! Thanks to Svitlo, they experienced an absolutely free summer camp that was a dream come true.

Their adventure at the MPW Summer School was bursting with laughter, new discoveries, and friendships that will last a lifetime—stories they’ll share with their future grandchildren. This isn’t just any summer program; MPW is one of the leading private colleges in the UK, offering incredible summer experiences for students from around the world.

At MPW, learning goes beyond textbooks. The program combined thrilling academic streams, innovative life skills workshops, and eye-opening field trips, all designed to equip students with essential knowledge for their future. Each week, they were treated to inspiring lectures from experts at the University of Cambridge and the University of London, enriching their experience with invaluable insights.

Kseniia, with her passion for law and international relations, dove into the Law, Politics, and International Relations course. This was her chance to explore the institutions and decisions that shape our lives. With two dedicated teachers guiding them, students engaged in lively debates, gaining fresh perspectives on social, legal, and political issues that dominate today’s headlines.

Field trips were the icing on the cake! They visited the Supreme Court and the Criminal Court, where Kseniia got to witness a real hearing on terrorism. “It was incredible to see the legal system in action,” she said. “This experience opened my eyes to the realities of law!”

Meanwhile, Andrii chose the Art and Design course, where he experimented with different media and techniques to unleash his creativity. His field trips took him to a variety of museums and art galleries, sparking inspiration and helping him build a portfolio for future creative pursuits.

Students had plenty of time to dive into the vibrant energy of London. They embarked on excursions to iconic attractions, making the English lessons they had learned come alive. Each outing was packed with excitement, and every new friendship added a special layer to their experience.

One of the most beautiful parts of this summer was the incredible diversity of friendships. From Italians to Japanese, French to Americans, MPW became a hub for cultural exchange. “The best way to learn about the world is through the people in it,” Kseniia shared. “The friends I made here are now a part of my life story.”

Mini-golf in the pouring rain, dancing like crazy at disco nights, and painting along the river in Cambridge. These adventures made them feel like one big family.

As the final day approached, emotions ran high. “There were definitely tears on the last day,” Kseniia recalled, “but we prefer to call them ‘see you later’ moments. So much happened, and the warmth inside us was undeniable.”

“I can say with confidence that those two weeks were the best time of my life. It was life-changing and eye-opening. To be alive is to dream. I’m so grateful to have found Svitlo School by chance; it’s now an inseparable part of my life. No words can fully express my gratitude, but I like to try. To everyone reading this blog, know you’re truly lucky to be part of Svitlo’s inspiring community—it’s the place to be, my home and where dreams come true.”
