Responsibilities:
Mini-prefect for lessons "Career success course": My responsibilities include keeping a register and monitoring activity in the classroom.
Teaching assistant “discussion forum”: where we talk about many topics regarding the USA.
Buddy: I help new students to adapt, explain how Svitlo operates, and answer any questions the students might have.
Reading buddy: I read books to younger students and help increase their vocabulary.
Content creator, editor for Svitlo tiktok:create content to promote Svitlo school.
Ambassador: Dissemination of information about the Svitlo School, bringing new students.
Head of prefects: I am responsible for prefects, their communication with teachers, their transition to the student council, journals, lesson folders and registrations for closed lessons, a set of new mini prefects, meetings with prefects.
Global Goals Project: I am part of Svitlo’s team in this project, where we work on creating the project “Burnout”.
Subtitles maker: responsible for creating subtitles for all social networks of the school.
Talks that matter: I teach my course at Svitlo School, which is about exploring thought-provoking topics, examining the foundations of them and creating a safe space for teens to express their feelings freely.
Plans for the future:
I’m really passionate about medicine and I dream of becoming a plastic surgeon one day.
At the moment I’m doing my best to spend my senior year of high school studying in the UK or the USA, and I’m dedicated to get into medical school there. Regardless of my intentions to peruse myself in a different country, I still want to travel back home very often because I love my motherland and I would never forget about Ukraine. My aim now and in the future is and will be helping Ukraine and making an impact by teaching Ukrainians English language, which is my second passion in life.
Did I tell you about my last, but equally important passion of mine? I crave travel. It’s something eternally special to me and something that’s lights me up like nothing else. And even though I don’t have a lot of possibility to travel right now I’m excited for what the future will bring me. I’m incredibly grateful to Svitlo for giving me the chance to immerse myself into English culture for the first time. I can’t imagine my future without traveling.

What Svitlo School means to Christie:
Svitlo had incredibly big impact on me. I adore the lessons, the chance to be taught by native speakers, who are also the best and most kind people ever. But I also love Svitlo with my heart for the people of it. Since becoming a Svitlo School student i’ve gained some of the best and most real friendships in my life with other Svitlo students💗
